  This is one of the most useful things I have bought for my dogs and my car. Not only are the dogs kept contained and safe, but my seats won’t get scratched, dog hair doesn’t get all over the car, and they can’t smudge up the windows. It fits just right across the back seat and straps in place. I didn’t buy the optional pads that fit it, but you don’t really need them because the material is strong enough to protect your seats. If you want to though, you can just throw an old blanket in there for your dog(s) to lay on. I have a pug and a boston terrier and there is more than enough room in there for the both of them. It folds down flat and zips shut so when you don’t need it, you can collapse it down and store it in your trunk and it won’t take up any room at all. As the other reviewer wrote, the mesh sides ARE a little dark, but they are breathable and do not cause any problem at all for me or my dogs. I’d recommend this product to anyone who asks, it will really save your car.

  We have a large black labrador and a Ford focus. Having no kids, we do not use our back seat; the pet tube fits snugly and safely across the seats, secured by three sturdy straps. Our lab can see out through the mesh, but is totally contained and secure – she loves it and often does not want to get out! This is the second tube I have bought – the last one lasted 5 years and we are only replacing it because it got a bit whiffy.

  It is great. It is big enough to put both my 70# dogs in it at the same time. The zipper is made very well and it won’t unzip unless a human unzips it. Collapses just like it says and very easy to use. I would definitely recommend. Note – I didn’t buy the pillow and it probably helps it not tend to “roll” when you turn corners. It also comes with straps that will hold it in place, but it has never been enough of an issue that I have had to use it.

  The Resident English Bulldog approves. She loves to go for a r-i-d-e (have to spell it out so she dosn’t hear the “word”) but it’s always been a hastle in the car. Too much jumping around and unable to simmer down. Big distraction for the driver not to mention unsafe for a bull in a china shop (I mean bull in a Camry) to be tooling around town out of control. Scolding never worked. Those harness contraptions that loop over a seatbelt, no good. This Pet Kennel has changed everything. Pearl is comfortable and contained inside her mobile crate. Excellent air flow with lots of screen. The large model fits across the back seat of the car, leaving pleanty of room inside.
  
  The directions are vague, actually non-existant. I’ve found the retention straps hold the Kennel most solid when looped over the seat back. Looped over the seat belts it’s too loose and shifts around the back seat too much. If your car has back seats that fold for access into the trunk it will be easy to install and remove. To hold it tight, you will need to run the strap up behind and over the top of the seat back. (This sounds worse than it is.)
  
  Oh yeah, almost forgot the best part. All the dog hair and associated slobber is contained and the inside of your car dosen’t get trashed.
  
  Well made, well thought out. Does a great job of solving a persistent problem. Your going to love it.
  
  Note: Some other reviews complain about it rolling around on the floor. It’s round, if not anchored it is bound to roll. If used properly for it’s intended purpose – strapped to a car seat – it works great.

  This was a great idea. However, the tube did not have any mesh area and that made it too dark inside. My dogs did not like it. There is also no way to anchor it so that it could be used outside of the car. It rolls around as the pet moves around in it. Good idea but needs some adjustment.
